How long have you been working at Ebury? What is your previous experience?
2 years and 9 months. I came here directly from University, so I didn’t have any kind of professional experience before joining Ebury.
What does it mean for you working at Ebury?
For me, working at Ebury is like not being at work: I’m doing what I like the most, with people that I consider my friends. I’m also working in a company that is still growing and, it allows me to keep growing as a professional too.
What motivates you?
I love a challenge. I enjoy complex situations where you need to use your brain to figure them out. I dislike trivial problems that involve applying the same logic over and over again. I can’t explain why I get so much satisfaction out of the complexity of my work, but this is what I need to be happy; challenges that push me so I can keep on learning new things.
What’s a typical working day for you?
It depends on the day, but my daily tasks involve: developing code for new products, ways of working or improving the way we currently work, analysing problems and requirements for our business, reviewing the technical tests we send to candidates as part of the interview process, and taking part in the recruitment process.
How has your job changed since you started working here?
It has changed a lot. When I first started at Ebury, I was a member of our Support Team. My daily task was to solve the incidents that users had with the online platform.
Now, after more than two and a half years, I belong to one of the teams that is involved in the development of the very platforms whose users I used to help. I now feel that I have the trust of my superiors, and my opinion truly counts when making technical decisions during the development process. I am also involved in the recruitment of junior and senior Developers.
Do you have any advice for people thinking of applying to work for the company?
If you are a passionate about technology or finance, we want to meet you! The office environment is awesome, and you will learn as much from us as we will from you. Overall, it’s a great place to develop your career.
