I joined Ebury September 2013 as a Business Developer. I was a BD for about 13 months, then I was promoted to SS1 and, 7 months after that, to SS2. From May 2015 I was managing two other Business Developers, and began to build my team. After working for just under two years at Ebury, I transitioned into a Head of Desk role.
In September 2015, having seen Ebury’s success in Spain and in the Netherlands, we began pitching to the Greek market. In Greece, there were only banks present, and they had suffered huge setbacks due to the financial crisis; it became clear that we had a great opportunity there. From this point business steadily grew, until myself and our Greek Dealer were visiting Greece once per month for client meetings, and our client base grew three fold. In February 2017, I was asked to move out to Athens with my team, which I accepted. I now work with and manage a team of 14, and we have well over a hundred clients, the number of which are still growing.
Ebury’s job descriptions are the guidelines to your role – accept them, but don’t see them as a limit to achieving more.
